Here’s the reality:
On January 6, 2021, Trump addressed his supporters during a “Save America Rally” near the White House. US Park Police had granted permits anticipating 30,000 demonstrators.
The goal of the march on the street was to delay the certification process of the election to allow for further investigation into concerns that were shared by tens of millions of people.
The means by which less than one percent of the marchers (2000–2500) ended up in the building is varied. Some broke their way in. Some were allowed in. Some walked through open doors not realizing they had been illegally opened. There are videos showing everything. All in all it was a big mess and very scary.
The overall goal could not have been "insurrection" or no one would have brought their grandmothers or left their guns at home. Trump would not have said to march "peacefully and patriotically" or suggested 10,000 troops protect the area to keep the public safety.

If Wikipedia's definition of revolt is accurate, then by Merrium-Webster's definition of insurrection, which includes the verb 'revolting,' January 6 could not have been an insurrection (since no one was trying to replace the government).
